It is a beautiful setting. The campsites are situated around a large lake. One side of the lake is heavy wooded, but the other is more open with some mature trees. You enter the campground from the top of the hill, and get a great view of the whole site as you drive in. The CG was not crowded at all, and we had a large full hookup site backing right up to the lake. The site was huge! We put our 30' TT at an angle so the awning side faced the lake. The rest rooms on our side of the lake were relatively new and clean, although you do have to "hold the pull chain" to take a shower. The restrooms on the wooded side of the lake looked older, but we did not go inside. It looked like about 25 -35% of the sites were occupied by seasonal campers, mostly on the wooded sites. Check in was easy, and there was plenty of room to park the rig when you check in. The office/store was relatively new, well stocked, and neat and clean. We didn't have any problem figuring out the map, but there is a large area shown on the map that has not been developed yet. I can see how the roads could get dusty in dry weather, but they seem well maintained. We were impressed that the campground was set up for full recycling, with neat separate bins at the trash station for paper, glass, plastic, and cans. There is a low bridge in Endicott, but there are alternate routes described on their web page. One surprise we had was the steepness of the grades to get up to the campground. Whether you approach from the north or the south, you have to get up the hill, and it is steep! 15 mph in first gear is the best our old van could do! When you leave, descending the long hill is another challenge, but since you know it is coming, you can be downshifted, and get ready for it. We would be happy to stop there anytime.

Nice, but not worth the price. Unusual circular layout that results in mostly pie shaped sites. It appears that the campground is at least 85% long term seasonal rentals, with about a third of the sites with permanent modular homes. It looks like it would be a great place for active retirees to spend the winter as there were all kinds of activities going on all the time. The pool, tennis courts, horseshoe courts, and club houses seemed to be in constant use. Very pet friendly and even has a fenced in dog park. We only stayed three days, and the transient sites were not anything to write home about. Mostly sand with pine needles. The mature pine trees do provide nice shade, and break the wind. On our site, the sewer was all the way to the back at the highest part of the site, and with our low slung ultralite trailer, I could barely get the tanks to drain (would not have been a problem with a taller rig). Good location though - close to the public beaches in Venice, and not that far from Siesta Key. Next time we will try to get into Oscar Scherer State Park which is right up the road.

Great location and great Florida State Park. We stayed for four days in February, and had a big site (#002) that backed right onto the water with a view directly east to the pass. Fantastic sunrises and moon rises without even leaving the trailer! Others have described all the amenities, so I won't go over them again, but they are first rate. As mentioned, dogs are not permitted on the Gulf beaches, but there is a county dog beach a few miles west by the fishing pier.

Was a very nice KOA, in a great location, handy to stuff both in St. Augustine Beach, and not that far out of the old part of St. Augustine. It is about a mile from the beach. Nice paved, mostly drive through spaces - a little close together, but I have seen worse. Some were a little uneven, but nothing you can't handle with typical leveling blocks. There is a nice duck/fish pond, and the ducks and egrets were fun to watch. In general, the grounds and landscaping were in fantastic shape, as was the pool and bathhouses. Pet friendly. We were going to stay at nearby Anastasia State Park which would have been half the cost, but it was booked up, and you can't take your dogs on the beach in the state park anyhow.

Very nice set up. They have spent a ton of money fixing this place up. Brand new sewer plant with the best dump station we have ever seen. Really classy bay view sites, as well as fantastic shaded full service sites, many pull through. Looks like maybe 25% of sites are seasonal rentals. Some of the sites were very soggy after a good rain - In fact we were upgraded (at no extra charge) since the site we had reserved was very wet after a squall passed by. It appears that they have "special event" weekends during the season. Staff was really helpful, and the shower/restrooms were freshly painted, and well maintained.

If you like a sunset view on the soundside of Hatteras Island, this is the place. There are full service sites that are truly soundfront - step out into the water if you want. We were there in the spring, so the bugs were not bad, but like anyplace at ground level (except the beach!) in Hatteras, bugs are bad! There was a bad storm with NW winds while we were there, and most of the site flooded, but the staff was very helpful finding a place for us on higher ground. Rest rooms and laundry room were older, but clean a well kept. The pool looking great, but it wasn't warm enough to try it. There are no ground fires permitted, but I think that is county law, as none of the campgrounds we saw permit fires. Beach access is handy, but you have to drive there - 4x4 is the best way to go ....
